Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
About Us
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust inspires young people aged 8-24 to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer.
Cancer can have a big impact on a young person’s mental wellbeing beyond treatment. When a young person gets the ‘all clear' from cancer, there is an expectation of happiness and returning to ‘normal’. But what is ‘normal’ now? Their whole world has changed. The future can feel daunting and overwhelming. For many, simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis just isn’t possible. That's when our work begins.
Our Trips
Any young person who has been treated for cancer from across the UK can join us for a free transformational four-day sailing experience from Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, or Largs on Scotland's West Coast.
Many young people need support over time too. So, once a young person has been sailing with us, they can keep coming back for more sailing or outdoor adventures.
How Can I Help?
Cancer can be a very lonely and anxious time, with young people isolated for long periods away from friends, family, and school. The pandemic has amplified this to unimaginable levels. Your donation means more young people can experience the magic of the Trust and start to believe in a brighter future.
